That Time Skateboarding Went to Space...Literally!

You know skateboarding is a pretty out-there sport, right? We've seen some wild moves, crazy stunts, and unbelievable spots to land a trick. But did you know skateboarding went all the way to SPACE?
Well, not exactly skateboarding in the traditional sense. I'm talking about skateboarding legend Tony Hawk partnering up with NASA!
Back in 2014, Hawk and the agency collaborated on a project to test the effects of microgravity on skateboarding. They designed a special, super-stable skateboard that could be used in a zero-gravity environment. They even filmed a demo of Hawk himself skateboarding in space while tethered to the International Space Station (ISS).
The whole thing was a huge deal, showing the athleticism and innovation that skateboarding brings to the table, not just on the streets but also beyond our planet.
So, next time you're grinding a rail or nailing a kickflip, remember that skateboarding's aspirations extend beyond Earth! ๐ฝ๐น
