Claim, Bridge, Stake — My Smooth Ride Through Summer.fi

If you’ve been providing liquidity on Sonic, you’ve probably noticed your SUMR rewards slowly stacking up. It’s like watching your plants grow — except these plants are digital tokens, and now they’re finally ready to harvest.

Well, good news: SUMR claiming and bridging is officially live on Summer.fi, and I just walked through the entire process myself. Let me tell you — it’s smooth, intuitive, and actually kinda fun.

Here’s how it all went down (and how you can do it too).

Step 1: Claiming Your SUMR (Yes, It’s Real Now)

First, I headed over to the Portfolio page on Summer.fi — the same place I usually check on my positions. This time, there was a shiny new tab waiting for me: "$SUMR Rewards." That’s where the magic begins.

Click it, and boom — all your earned SUMR is right there. If it’s your first time claiming, you’ll need to accept the usual terms (nothing sketchy, just standard stuff). Then just scroll to the Sonic block in the Claim & Delegate section and click "Claim 1/2."

Your wallet will prompt a confirmation. Hit approve. That’s it. Tokens claimed.

I won’t lie — it felt good watching the rewards I’d earned finally hit my wallet.

Step 2: Bridging to Base (Where SUMR Comes Alive)

Claiming is just the beginning. To really use your SUMR, you’ll need to bridge it to Base — and thankfully, the process couldn’t be easier.

Right after claiming, you’ll see a “Bridge 2/2” button. Click it, and you’ll be taken to the Bridge page, already set up to move from Sonic to Base. No guesswork.

Your available SUMR will be right there, ready for the trip.

Before clicking the final “Bridge” button, you’ll see some quick info:

Gas costs (as expected)

Messaging fees (think of it like customs paperwork)

Estimated time (mine took around 2 minutes — enough time to make coffee)

Click “Bridge,” and let LayerZero tech handle the secure passage of your tokens. Once they arrive safely on Base, you’ll be prompted to “Return to claim.” Honestly, it all felt surprisingly smooth.

Step 3: Delegation & Staking — Put Your SUMR to Work

Now that your SUMR is living on Base, it’s time to make it count.

Back on the Claim & Delegate page, hit “Continue.” You’ll now choose your delegate — kind of like picking someone you trust to vote on protocol matters. You can also choose to delegate to yourself if you're the type who likes full control (respect).

Switch to the Base network in your wallet, approve, and then click “Delegate.”

You’ll also decide how much to stake. Don’t worry — you can always adjust later. Finalize with wallet confirmation and you’re in.

Just like that, your SUMR is claimed, bridged, delegated, and staked.

A Few Quick Tips (From My Own Experience)

Make sure you have some ETH and BASE for gas fees — you’ll need it on both ends

Bridge times may vary, but it’s usually under 5 minutes.

You can always track your SUMR in the Portfolio tab afterward.

If something looks confusing — Summer.fi’s design really helps guide you through each step

Finally, It’s Not Just About Rewards — It’s About Belonging

What I loved most about this whole process was how it made me feel involved. It’s not just about claiming tokens — it’s about becoming part of something bigger. SUMR isn’t just a reward — it’s your ticket to governance, community, and shaping the future of the protocol.

If you’ve been earning rewards through Sonic and haven’t claimed them yet, now’s the time. Head over to Summer.fi, follow the flow, and start putting your tokens to work.

I’ve already claimed mine — and I’m honestly excited to see what’s next.

Check out summer.fi now and start staking up rewards, you'd be glad you did. The future of decentralised finance is here!
