What is this Blog and What even is that logo?

  • If you know me, you know this—I love books!

  • Books have shaped how I think, live, and see the world.

  • But talking with people, knowing their lifestyle, I realized a few years back that it is hard for people to make 8 hours for a book and then sit with focus to read it.

  • This is where the idea of the book club originated. (We will get back to this)

Why “Pratyay’s Book Bias”?

  • I could’ve named it anything. But I chose BIAS.

  • Bias — a tilt, an opinion, a perspective. Never neutral.

  • Books shaped the way I think, move, live. They gave me not just knowledge, but a lens to see the world.

  • So, if my thoughts are shaped by books, then so are my opinions — my bias

  • That’s how Pratyay’s Book Bias was born.

The Book Club

  • When the world moved online during COVID-19, so did the college, studies and the entire life.

  • This is when I found out about a study-together server called Books Coffee and Dreams.

  • I joined it to find people to study together with but with time, I fell in love with the people, the culture and the environment.

  • Studying on the server, it dawned upon me, 'Books weren’t skipped. They were sacrificed for exams.'

  • This realization gave birth to 'The Book Club', 8 hours distilled into 20 mins!

But, what does The Book Club have to do with this Blog?

  • Good question, let's break down the logo's components.

  • The Font - Open Dyslexic - created to increase readability for readers with dyslexia.

  • I discovered the font on Kindle and thought it was a pretty convenient thing to have for people.

  • The Idea for this Blog is to make you (the reader) wonder, think and share the ah-ha moments with you. In crisp, byte-sized blog chunks.

  • The logo design also consists of a Book, Coffee and moon, star symbolizing Dreams. This is a tribute to where this started at the Discord Server by Srijan Rishi.

What to Expect?

  • Expect insights on habits, decision-making, stress, books, and everything in between.
  • Now that you have read this far, I welcome you to my Blog.

  • Let's make this something special, something interesting, eye-catching and more importantly something that helps you get things better in life!
