Essential Grammar and Plagiarism Tips for Early Days at Work

29% plagiarism in your work? That percentage is too high!

I watched my work being criticised for plagiarism after having spent over 3 hours wracking up content. I’m not going to lie, I was wondering whom I had plagiarised and what I had copied.

Plagiarism is the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own. It could be copying verbatim or making tweaks to a full-blown sentence.

But… not many individuals understand editing, just like I didn’t myself! An already published work has its rights reserved; as such, references could be made instead of an outright reuse of the article.

Plagiarism: An Obstacle, Overcoming It.

As a Writer researching a topic with limited information, how do you overcome plagiarism?

This is where synonyms come in, not for the Defi jargon but for the sentence structure. Make the last the first with synonyms taking the place of original words.

Example:

→Given the high market volatility rate, investors are turning to stables as a new means of storing wealth.

You could say:

→Holders of cryptocurrency who originally held volatile coins are now opting for stable coins due to the rapid decline of the crypto market.

No plagiarism tool would flag such tweaks as being plagiarised; the message of the original text was conveyed while safely tweaking it.
