The defination of who you are is of less importance than the potential of who you can be

About

For over 20 years, there has been an intentional international drive to encourage women to take up more technical and managerial roles. With all the progress that has been made, there still exists invisible barriers stopping women from straying away from what was often referred to as “female roles”. Our WCW for today, Mumtarin Aishee is an example of what happens when you break through social, geographical and even technical barriers. She’s a testament to what happens when passion doesn’t wait for permission to be who you can be

Currently wrapping up her Master’s in Business Analytics and Information Management at the University of Delaware while being a Graduate Assistant at the Delaware Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Mumtarin’s journey is one of resilience, growth, and purpose. Her story is a powerful example of how determination and curiosity can override barriers—and how women are transforming the narrative in tech.

Finding Purpose in Data

Mumtarin’s fascination with using technology to solve complex business challenges ignited during her graduate studies in the U.S. “It started in classrooms full of energetic minds who, like me, believed in the power of tech and data to drive change,” she shares.

As a Graduate Assistant at the Delaware Small Business Development Center (SBDC), she put theory into action, helping entrepreneurs boost their digital visibility through data-driven marketing strategies. This role also revealed her talent for bridging business needs with technical solutions—a vital quality in a world flooded with data but short on interpreters.

Achievements

Before her academic pursuits in the U.S., Mumtarin spent four years navigating the business landscape of South Asia. There, she broke glass ceilings by becoming the first female Territory Sales Manager at Reckitt Bangladesh—a feat not just in title, but in the leadership and influence it demanded.

This achievement played a pivotal role in revealing her versatility and grit, constantly proving herself in a role which was about hitting numbers as much as it was about shattering stereotypes.

The move to the U.S. was not without its challenges. From cultural transitions to academic pressures, Mumtarin had to adapt quickly. She emphasizes the importance of finding a support system, especially in environments where women are the minority. Through communities, conferences, and student networks, Mumtarin built relationships that helped her thrive.

As she looks toward the future, Mumtarin is eager to combine her technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership skills to create a meaningful impact on a global scale. Whether it's consulting, tech innovation, or digital transformation—she’s ready to lead from the front.

Inspiration

Mumtarin’s journey is more than personal, it is a beacon for young women everywhere who dream of stepping into tech and analytics. Her journey is one to test the limits of tech and data in driving change, without compromise, not waiting for permission.

In celebrating women like Mumtarin Aishee, we are not just highlighting achievements, we are acknowledging the quiet revolutions happening every day in labs, classrooms, startups, and boardrooms around the world.
