Concept of Prompting & it's techniques

Prompts are very important when it comes to working with ai models , the better the prompt the better the result.
Types of Promting Techniques :
Zero Shot Prompting
Few Shot Prompting
Chain Of Thoughts (COT) Prompting
Self Consistency Prompting
Instruction Prompting
Direct Answer Prompting
Persona-based Prompting
Role-playing Prompting
Contextual Prompting
Multimodal Prompting
- Zero Shot Prompting
Zero-shot prompting is a technique in Natural Language Processing (NLP) where a model generates a response to a task without any prior training examples or specific fine-tuning for that task.
- Few Shot Prompting
Few-shot prompting is a technique where a language model is provided a small number of examples within the prompt itself to guide its response to a specific task.
These examples help the model understand the task and learn the desired output format, resulting in more accurate and reliable responses
- Chain of Thoughts (COT) Prompting
Chain-of-thought (CoT) prompting is a technique that helps AI models solve problems by breaking them down into a series of steps.
This approach mimics human reasoning and can improve the accuracy of model responses
- Self Consistency Prompting
Self-consistency prompting is a technique that improves the reliability and accuracy of language model responses by generating multiple outputs for a single prompt and then selecting the most consistent answer.
This approach leverages the idea that complex problems can be approached in various ways, and by exploring different reasoning paths, the model can identify the most reliable answer.
- Instruction Prompting
Instruction prompting involves providing a language model with clear, explicit instructions about the task it needs to perform, often through demonstrations or examples
- Direct Answer Prompting
Direct prompting is a straightforward approach in prompt engineering where a user explicitly asks an AI to generate a specific response.
This method provides clear instructions, reducing ambiguity and improving the chances of getting the desired output.
- Persona Based Prompting
Persona-based prompting is a technique that guides a language model to generate responses by assigning it a specific role or persona.
This role influences the model's tone, style, and reasoning approach, leading to more tailored and relevant outputs.
Essentially, you're instructing the AI to "act like" a particular character or expert.
Examples:
a) Instructing the AI to "act like a math expert" :
- The AI will then provide responses that are consistent with the tone and style of a math expert.
b) Instructing the AI to "act like a travel guide" :
- The AI will then provide suggestions and recommendations that are tailored to travel needs
- Role Based Prompting
Role-based prompting is a technique in prompt engineering where you assign a specific role or persona to a language model (like ChatGPT) to guide its tone, style, and behavior, resulting in more tailored and engaging AI outputs for specific tasks.
Examples:
a) You are a seasoned scientist. Explain the theory of relativity in simple terms.
b) Imagine you are a financial analyst. What are the potential risks and rewards of investing in cryptocurrency?
- Contextual Prompting
Contextual prompting is a technique in prompt engineering where specific background information is included in the prompt to guide the AI model's response and ensure it's tailored to a particular scenario or need.
This technique helps the model understand the task more accurately and generate more relevant outputs.
- Multimodal Prompting
Multimodal prompting involves using a combination of different input types, like text, images, audio, or video, to guide AI models.
This approach goes beyond traditional text-based prompts, allowing for more nuanced and context-rich interactions with AI.
By feeding AI with multiple forms of information, it can better understand the user's intent and generate more relevant and creative outputs.
Agar aap yahaan tak padh ke aaye ho, toh pehli baat — shukriya dil se! ❤️
Prompting sirf technique nahi hai, yeh ek kala hai — jaise kisi dholak pe sahi beat padti hai, waise hi AI bhi tabhi chamakta hai jab hum sahi tareeke se baat karte hain.
Aap chahe AI ke saath kaam kar rahe ho, ya sirf seekh rahe ho — yaad rakho, AI bhi ek team member ki tarah hai. Usse jitna clearly samjhaoge, jitna context doge, jitna usko role aur vibe mein daaloge — utna hi kamaal ka output milega.
Agar yeh blog pasand aaya ho, toh aage share karna, comment chhodna, aur agar kuch cheez funny ya relatable lagi ho — toh ek "arre bhai, sahi pakde hain!" zaroor likh dena 😄
Milte hain agle blog mein, naye tareekon aur naye tadke ke saath!
