Fatwa Issued Against Thalapathy Vijay for Inviting Anti-Social Elements to Vijay Ramzan Event

Thalapathy Vijay, the Tamil superstar and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader, has recently come under fire for his Iftar party during Ramzan, as a fatwa has been issued against him. The fatwa, issued by Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi, National President of All India Muslim Jamaat, follows a series of controversies related to the actor's political ambitions and portrayal of Muslims in his films.

Maulana Razvi, speaking from Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly, expressed concern over Vijay's actions, stating that the actor-turned-politician had depicted Muslims negatively in his movies, particularly as perpetrators of terrorism. "Now, Vijay is attempting to enter politics and make his way into the Muslim community," Razvi remarked, referring to the TVK leader's efforts to transition from the entertainment industry to a political career.

The fatwa stems from allegations that Vijay invited individuals associated with gambling, alcohol consumption, and other anti-social activities to his Vijay Ramzan event. The Maulana noted that the presence of such guests at the Iftar gathering had angered the Muslim community in Tamil Nadu.

Thalapathy Vijay’s Iftar event, which included him wearing a skullcap, quickly became a subject of widespread discussion on social media. Many social media users expressed their discontent, with some accusing the actor of using the event as a form of political appeasement.

One social media user commented, “Did he visit the Kumbh? It's not about secularism, it's about appeasement.” Another user remarked, “They know this game very well.” Some even pointed out that the Muslim population in Tamil Nadu is only 5%, and thus no party would need their support to win elections.

While the controversy around the Iftar party has sparked debates, it adds to the ongoing tensions surrounding Vijay's political ambitions, with critics accusing him of attempting to garner Muslim support for his TVK party.
