AWS Skill Builder Journey

I’m excited to share a new series of blogs that will take you through my hands-on journey with AWS Skill Builder labs. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be diving deep into various labs provided by AWS Skill Builder, where I'll demonstrate practical, real-world use cases of different AWS services, share my insights, and highlight the lessons I’ve learned along the way.
Why AWS Skill Builder?
As someone transitioning into the cloud world and focused on mastering AWS, I’ve found that one of the best ways to learn is by doing. AWS Skill Builder offers interactive, guided labs that let you experience AWS services in action. Whether you're a beginner or looking to deepen your knowledge, these labs help you build valuable, job-ready skills.
Through these weekly blog posts, I'll be sharing my personal experiences with the labs I’m completing—starting from core AWS services and gradually moving into more advanced solutions. By the end of the series, I aim to have a comprehensive understanding of AWS and how it can be leveraged to create scalable, highly available cloud architectures.
What’s in Store?
Each blog in this series will cover a specific lab where I’ll:
✅ Walk you through the steps involved in completing the lab
✅ Discuss the AWS services used and how they interact within the architecture
✅ Share best practices, lessons learned, and common pitfalls to avoid
✅ Explore key takeaways that can help you apply these skills to real-world projects
This journey isn’t just about following a set of instructions—it’s about truly understanding how AWS works, building resilient systems, and gaining hands-on experience that will serve me (and hopefully you!) in the cloud world.
Stay Tuned!
I’ll be sharing my first deep dive into an AWS Skill Builder lab very soon, where we’ll be setting up a highly available WordPress application using AWS services. I’ll walk you through each step of the process—from provisioning EC2 instances to configuring Auto Scaling Groups, an Application Load Balancer, and more!
So, stay tuned for the upcoming posts, and if you’d like to follow along, feel free to try out the labs yourself on AWS Skill Builder.
