I never thought I’d make money teaching coding I was just a freelancer who learned Python a few years ago. But in 2025, I turned my tech skills into a side hustle that earns me $3,000/month by teaching beginners to code. Here’s how I did it, and how you can start this profitable side hustle too.

Step 1: Create a Beginner-Friendly Course

I noticed a lot of beginners wanted to learn coding but felt overwhelmed by jargon-heavy courses. I created a simple Python course focusing on practical projects, like building a to-do list app. I bundled it into my Launch Your Tech Career product, which includes 20+ courses on coding, AI, and more. It took me a week to create, You can check it out on Gumroad: HERE.

Step 2: Market on Free Platforms

I shared my course on Reddit (r/learnprogramming) and Quora, answering questions like “How do I start coding?” with a link to my blog, which funnels to my Gumroad page. I also used X to share success stories: “My student built their first app in 2 weeks!” I spent $0 on ads but got 50 sales in the first month $1,450 in revenue.

Step 3: Add Value with Live Q&A

To stand out, I offered free live Q&A sessions on Discord for buyers, helping them with coding challenges. This built trust, and I upsold my Hands-On Machine Learning book to 20 students, adding another $1,550/month. It’s on Gumroad: HERE.

The Results

I now earn $3,000/month teaching coding, and it only takes 5 hours a week. If you know a tech skill, you can turn it into a side hustle that pays off big in 2025.
