Documenting My Tech Journey In High School

I’m in the middle of KCSE prep(Single Examination that determines Overall High School Grade In Kenya) right now. Eight subjects, long days, lots of expectations. Most people would probably say this isn’t the best time to start anything else.

But I couldn’t ignore the one thing I kept thinking about—building something of my own.

I’ve always loved tech. And I’ve always believed in starting, even when the timing isn’t perfect

Why I Started Now

Most people wait until the exams are over. Until they’re less busy. Until life slows down.

I didn’t want to wait. I knew if I didn’t start now, I’d keep putting it off. So even with school, revision, and everything else going on, I made time for this. Not because it was easy—but because it mattered.

What I’m Building

Right now I’m working on a Physics simulation platform. Something simple and interactive—where you can visualize motion, forces, energy... the stuff that sometimes feels abstract when all you have is a chalkboard.

I love Physics, but I’ve also seen how much better it clicks when you can actually see what’s happening. That’s the gap I want to help close.

I’m using HTML, CSS, Python and JavaScript to build it. Nothing too advanced yet—but I’m learning as I go. I’ll dive into more after KCSE. The idea is to keep improving the project slowly, one feature at a time.

Why I’m Blogging About It

I wanted a place to keep track of what I’m doing. Not just for others—but for me.

This blog is where I’ll share what I’m building, what I’m figuring out, and what goes wrong along the way. No polished tutorials or expert takes—just honest updates from someone learning in real-time.

I’ll post things like:

My thought process

Progress updates

Challenges and bugs

Design changes

Random notes and reflections

I’m not building this in silence—but I’m not shouting about it either. Just sharing what I can, when I can.

Juggling Big Goals

I’ve got high goals, no doubt. I’m aiming for top grades in KCSE and I’m thinking long-term, far beyond that.

But this project isn’t a distraction from those goals—it’s part of the journey.

Finding time for it isn’t always easy. But I make time. Even if it’s just an hour in the evening or a small breakthrough over the weekend. That effort adds up.

Who This Is For

If you’re someone chasing big dreams and still trying to make space for your passion, maybe this speaks to you.

Or maybe you’re just curious what it’s like building a project like this while balancing school. Either way, welcome. I’m glad you’re here.

What’s Next

I’ll keep building, posting, and learning.

Let’s see where it goes.

I’m a high school student currently preparing for my KCSE exams while actively building projects at the intersection of science and technology. I’m passionate about Physics, education, and using code to turn complex concepts into interactive experiences. Though I’m balancing a demanding academic schedule, I still carve out time to code, create, and learn, because building things is more than a hobby to me. It’s how I think, explore, and grow. This blog is my space to document that journey, share what I’m learning, and show what’s possible when curiosity meets quiet consistency. Tech Stack Here’s what I’m currently using for my projects: Editor: VS Code Languages: HTML, CSS, JavaScript Libraries/Frameworks: Planning to learn React post-KCSE Tools: Git (locally), browser dev tools Design & Sketching: Pen, paper, and simple wireframes Learning Platforms: MDN Web Docs, freeCodeCamp, and YouTube tutorials Want me to turn this into a full Hashnode sidebar layout or bio snippet?
