Introduction -

Hello and welcome to anyone visiting my blog site. I’m Marquise, a Jr. developer who wants to build and make things. I have a bachelor’s degree in computer science and ever since I started college I’ve been writing and learning to code. The first programming language I learned was Python and ever since then, I figured I had a knack for coding. Putting something together and seeing the successful results at the end has always brought me joy. I made this blog in hopes of meeting others like me and sharing my knowledge. I’m no expert but one day I surely will be and this blog will be the proof of it.

If you’re a fellow beginner, an experienced developer, or just a curious individual, I hope you'll find something helpful or inspiring here.

What I hope to accomplish -

  1. Documenting my journey for those who want to follow

    • I hope to write monthly updates for whatever project I’m working on.

    • I will write about my progress, achievements, and future plans.

  2. Tutorials (maybe)

    • I’m not the best at teaching things but when I have a good understanding I will do my best to explain my thought process and will link other sources that may explain things better than me.
  3. Build a community or contribute to an already existing one

    • I would love to connect with other like-minded individuals whether they are new or not.

    • My own small community for a niche thing would be nice but I don’t expect that to be easy to accomplish. But if I did manage to make it happen we would definitely need a cool group name.

  4. Build things for the love of the game(sometimes because I can’t do everything for free)

    • I want to build things (of course not always for free) that can either be useful to myself or others. I have genuine interest in making things and making them work in the way I intend them to.
  5. A yearly updates

    • An update on where I am at and cumulative report of things I’ve learned along the way or that year.
  6. Once I’ve become a well-seasoned developer and made it through the ranks I will take the money I saved over the years and retire on a farm as every developer should.

    • After years of staring at a computer screen, I need to touch grass for a change.

Tech Stack Focus (for now) -

  • Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Next.js

  • Backend: Python. SQL, C#, ASP.NET, RPG

  • Tools: Git/GitHub, VS Code, Visual Studio, PyCharm

Conclusion -

Honestly, I want to learn and grow as much as I can. I have a passion for building things and I plan on putting it to good use. I know there’s a lot to learn, but one project, one blog post, and one line of code at a time, I'm dedicated to embracing this journey.

I appreciate you taking the time to read my very first post! I can't wait to see where this journey takes me, and I'm even more thrilled to have you with me.
