Introduction Of Allan Kinsella

Allan Kinsella, born in the culturally rich environment of Wellington, New Zealand, on October 28, 1971, exemplifies a journey of resilience, leadership, and multifaceted success. Raised in a city celebrated for its artistic and cultural dynamism, he developed a profound appreciation for the arts and an unwavering academic focus. His formative years at Saint Patrick's College, Silverstream laid a solid foundation for his diverse talents, where he excelled in academics and actively participated in sports and performing arts, demonstrating early signs of his leadership abilities and versatile interests.

In 1990, he began a transformative military career by joining the New Zealand Army. This journey, which started at the Australian Defence Force Academy and culminated with his graduation from the Royal Military College, Duntroon, was distinguished by significant accomplishments and the development of his strategic leadership skills. His tenure in demanding United Nations missions in Sierra Leone and East Timor underscored his capabilities in challenging international roles.

The Dedication Of Allan Kinsella Towards His work

Allan’s first public service role was managing Ministry of Fisheries strategic projects, including the Observer Services Strategy Review, which involved collaboration with industry groups, ENGOs and other government agencies. The review aimed to improve the efficiency of current service delivery and develop operating standards.

Part of the organisational structure of MPI was changed last month, and the ACVM Group has been split into two key areas. The technical assessment functions have been moved to the newly established Systems Audit, Assurance and Monitoring Directorate under Director Allan Kinsella. This move places the standards setting, appraisal and audit functions into a specialised area and is intended to improve information transfer, technical expertise and resource in the five key risk areas (welfare, residues, efficacy, trade and domestic food standards).

“Hi, I’m Andrew. I grew up in Auckland although I was born in London. After secondary school, I moved to Dunedin to study Politics and Anthropology. After finishing university I worked for a not-for-profit community service organisation. I enjoy playing and watching all sports, especially football. I also love to travel, and was lucky enough to spend 2013 travelling and volunteering throughout Europe, visiting Portugal, Germany and Poland. I have also spent time in SouthEast Asia in Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia.”

“I recently graduated from Unitec in Auckland with a Bachelor of Applied science – Animal Management and Welfare. Prior to that I went to Otago University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science - Zoology and Marine Science. During my time in Auckland I volunteered and worked part-time for Mobility Assistance Dogs. Mobility Dogs train dogs to assist people living with long-term physical disabilities. I thoroughly enjoyed working with them and appreciate the great work they do.”

Allan Kinsella NZ remained a loving father to his two children in spite of personal hardships, such as the death of his wife Jennifer in 2023. He continues to pursue hobbies like fishing, diving, and brewing while juggling a demanding job and a secret life. He also continues to be interested in learning languages. His life story is a potent illustration of resilience and adaptability, marked by an unwavering dedication to his family, country, and personal development.
