I’m beginning to think about how I can overcome some bad habits, and then I got this idea, like change doesn't happen overnight, but it starts with a decision, so what if I try to become better little by little for the next 30 days by forming new habits in my daily life. I liked it, and I am ready to take up this challenge.

So, over the next 30 days, I’m committing to self-improvement by identifying and overcoming my bad habits through discipline, mindfulness, and consistent action.

Why 30 Days?

Hmm.. I don’t know, but a couple of days back, I watched a video from Andrew Huberman, in which he shares how his friend’s son or some other i don’t know exactly but what he shared is, That boy tried to overcome a bad habit so he planned to not repeat the habit for next 30 days and by that time he mentioning that boy is already in day 29 and shared the boy said that he faced a lot of struggle to overcome but he enjoyed the process and it got Me. And I want to try the challenge in my way to become better.

And also, I am currently reading Atomic Habits by James Clear, in which he shares how to overcome bad habits by following the 4 principles

  1. Make it Invisible

  2. Make it Unattractive

  3. Make it Difficult

  4. Make it Unsatisfying

And I'm not finished reading the book, I'm in the middle of it, and I will finish it while completing this challenge, and it also helps me to overcome some difficulties.

I know that you thinking like “How 30 days will shape your life?” and Tbh, I also don’t know it, but I want to give it a shot. I want to struggle and enjoy the process. To this moment, I enjoyed the pleasure of the bad habits, and now I will enjoy the struggle to overcome the bad habits.

The next 30 days will serve as a short-term goal for me. I believe that achieving success during this period will help me in the long run, as it will assist in overcoming any bad habits that may arise in the future.

Identifying Bad Habits

Here are some habits I have identified in myself that have to be changed

  1. Procrastination

  2. Excessive Screen time

  3. Poor Sleep Schedule (Really have to change this first)

  4. Not doing workouts

Setting Goals and Replacements

I listed some of the habits that I have to change, and some others are there that I have to work on.

To avoid falling back into my old habits, I am implementing strategies to help me stay on track.

  • I will read 20 pages of a book

  • I will not postpone the things, and I will complete them in time

  • After coming from the office, I will sleep at any cost and avoid the phone before going to bed

  • Every day, I will do some workout or go for a walk

  • I will do Meditation 30Min every day to calm my mind

Firstly, these are things that I want to focus on, and slowly, I will implement new ones as well.

The Role of Discipline

I know that motivation is not only the thing that will help me, but the role of discipline to show up every day will make a huge impact.

On days I don’t feel like it, I’ll show up anyway — because I owe it to my future self.

Daily Routine & Accountability

From tomorrow onwards, I am making a list every day for the next 30 days, and it's a to-do list for the things I have to do every day.

I am making this list in Notion and posting the link here so whoever reads this will also check the things I have done every day for the next 30 days.

It’s not about doing many things every day but getting better little by little. But if I break the chain on any day, I will double down the next day.

Weekly Reflections

I will write an article every 5 days, in which I will share how I enjoy the process while doing it. I know it’s not easy, but I made up my mind.

I know there will be setbacks and struggles to overcome from something but that’s what makes it special. Hope I will complete this challenge without any interruptions.

Conclusion

That’s it for this one..!

Tomorrow will be Day 1, today is Day 0(Not counting, but I will do all things that I mentioned). I will set things up and start the next article within the next five days, but I am not considering today as the start date.

“If you’re reading this, I challenge you to join me. One day or day one — you decide.”
