From Jargon To Simple. Ai related....

What Are Transformers?
Imagine reading a sentence and instantly knowing which words are most important. That’s what transformers do!
- They look at entire sentences at once (unlike older AI that read word by word).
- They figure out how words connect, even if they’re far apart (e.g., in “The cat, which was hungry, meowed loudly,” the AI knows “meowed” refers to “cat”).
Why Are They So Good?
Faster – Processes everything in one go.
Smarter – Understands context better.
Used everywhere – ChatGPT, translations, even image generators!
The Encoder: Finding the Meaning
Think of this like summarizing a book:
- For text, it picks up key ideas (e.g., “bank” means money in “bank account” but land in “river bank”).
- For images, it focuses on important details (like how your phone recognizes your face).
The Decoder: Creating the Output
This part turns the summary back into something useful, like:
- Translating “Hello” → “Hola” in Spanish.
- Writing the next word in a story.
Word Math (Embeddings)
Words are turned into numbers so the AI can work with them.
- Example: “King” – “Man” + “Woman” = “Queen” (crazy, right?).
Remembering Word Order
Since AI sees all words at once, it needs a way to track their position.
- Like adding labels: “I [1] love [2] ice [3] cream [4].”
Picking the Next Word (Softmax)
When writing, the AI assigns probabilities to each possible next word (e.g., “The dog ___” → “barks” (80%), “runs” (15%), etc.).
Temperature: Creativity Control
- Low = Safe, predictable answers (“2+2=4”).
- High = Wild, creative responses (“2+2= purple” … maybe not that wild).
Knowledge Cutoff: The AI’s “Last Update”
- AI only knows info up to its training date (e.g., GPT-3.5’s knowledge stops at 2021).
So , After read this . I am sure you change the way to see AI . No magic has been done , It’s all about math .
