Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have recently retired from international test cricket.

Experienced Indian team players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have recently announced their retirement from international Test cricket. Both these players are considered among the best batsmen in the world. Meanwhile, former player Yograj Singh has given his opinion on Virat and Rohit’s retirement from Test format.

While talking to the media, Yograj Singh said, ‘Virat Kohli is a very big player and this is a big loss for Team India. Both Virat and Rohit still had a lot of cricket left in them. Rohit Sharma, Virender Sehwag and Kohli, all three players retired early. I think they should have played till 50 years. I feel bad about the retirement of these players because now there is no one left to encourage the young players.’

Yograj Singh further said, ‘When my son Yuvraj Singh was retiring, I told him that this is not the right time. This is because you should retire only when another player in the team is performing well in your place. For Rohit Sharma, I would like to say that he needs a person every day who encourages him.’

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be seen playing in the ODI format

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will now be seen performing brilliantly only in the ODI format. After winning the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, both these players also retired from the T20 format. Currently, both of them are seen playing in IPL 2025.

IPL 2025 was stopped for a short time due to tension between India and Pakistan. However, the tournament is starting again from May 17. Both Rohit and Virat have batted explosively for their respective teams this season.

While Virat Kohli is playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rohit Sharma can be seen performing brilliantly for Mumbai Indians. RCB has to play its next match against Kolkata Knight Riders on May 17, while Mumbai Indians will play its next league match against Delhi Capitals on May 21.
