Understanding Different Cloud Deployment Models

2 min read

1. Public Cloud βοΈ
Hosted by third-party providers like AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.
Easily accessible over the internet.
Ideal for sharing non-sensitive data.
Scalable, cost-effective, and no need for in-house infrastructure.
2.Private Cloud π
Also called Enterprise Cloud.
Used by organizations to store confidential and sensitive data. ποΈπ
Not shared with other entities.
Access is restricted and secure, typically only available within the company. π’π
Example: A company like Dell may have its head office in the USA, with branches in Delhi, Canada, Lahore, Kabul, and New Delhi. The head office may use a private cloud to secure internal data while allowing remote access to other branches through encrypted connections. ππ
Only authenticated internal users can connect, preventing unauthorized access or hacking. π«π
Advantages of Private Cloud: Enhanced security and privacy. π‘οΈ
Greater control over data and infrastructure. βοΈ
Disadvantages: Higher cost due to server maintenance. π°
Requires skilled personnel to manage infrastructure. π¨βπ»π©βπ»
Scalability is limited compared to public cloud. π
Physical servers must be maintained in-house or virtualized for cloud use. π₯οΈ
3.Hybrid Cloud
Combines Public and Private Cloud infrastructures. βοΈπ
Provides flexibility to manage sensitive data on a private cloud and use public cloud services for less critical operations. πβοΈ
Enables optimized resource utilization and cost savings. πΌπ°
Ideal for businesses needing data security and scalability simultaneously. π‘οΈπ
4.Understanding Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) Offered by cloud providers like AWS and Azure.
Mimics a private cloud but runs on public cloud infrastructure. βοΈπ
Offers one-to-one connectivity and restricted access. ππ«
Suitable for businesses seeking cost-efficiency with privacy. π°π
Note: VPC is not a real private cloud but behaves like one virtually. π
