Exploring Azure IoT Central Real-Time Data Pipelines!

Table of contents

Over the past few days, I had the opportunity to deep-dive into a powerful real-time data processing pipeline using Microsoft Azure, and I’m excited to share what I’ve learned!

✅ Azure IoT Central – Seamlessly connect IoT devices to the cloud with zero infrastructure hassle. It made telemetry visualisation and device management a breeze.
✅ Continuous Data Export – Configured to stream real-time data from IoT Central to Azure services.
✅ Azure Event Hub – Acted as the robust data ingestion point, receiving telemetry from connected devices.
✅ Azure Function App – Leveraged EventHubTrigger to consume messages and apply logic to prepare data for storage.
✅ Azure Cosmos DB – The final destination, where structured telemetry data is stored for further querying and analysis.

🔄 Pipeline Flow:
IoT Device → IoT Central → Event Hub → Function App → Cosmos DB

This setup enables scalable, real-time data ingestion and processing—ideal for smart devices, industrial IoT, and monitoring systems.
