Top 3 Overseas Players who will miss IPL 2025 Playoffs

IPL 2025 is currently in its final stages, and now we are witnessing a continuous struggle among the teams to make a place in the playoffs. GT, RCB, and PBC have qualified for the playoffs, and now only one team's place is vacant. But it will not be easy for these teams to qualify because some foreign players from all the teams have returned to their country in the international series before the playoff matches. In this article, we will know about the 3 overseas players who will not be available for the IPL 2025 playoff stage.
1. Jos Buttler (Gujarat Titans)
Jos Buttler is one of the important core players for the Gujarat Titans in this IPL 2025. He is among the players who have crossed the 500 runs mark in this IPL, along with Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan. Gujarat's team's batting mostly depends on its opening three batsmen. Thanks to this trio, GT has already qualified for the playoffs. But now Butler will not be able to play in the playoffs due to the upcoming ODI and T20 series against the West Indies. Without Buttler, the batting of the Gujarat Titans may weaken. Sri Lanka's Kusal Mendis will join the Gujarat team soon in his place. It will be very interesting to watch how GT will play in the playoffs without Buttler.
2. Ryan Rickelton (Mumbai Indians)
Mumbai Indians left-handed wicketkeeper-batsman Ryan Rickelton has scored a total of 336 runs in 12 innings so far, including 3 half-centuries. He is consistently giving the Mumbai Indians a great start and batting brilliantly for the team. He will travel to his hometown, South Africa, for the final of the upcoming ICC World Test Championship 2025. SA Cricket wants all its players to return by May 26, due to which Rickelton will miss the playoff matches. Rickelton's departure will be a huge blow to the Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians face Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings in the upcoming cricket matches of the IPL. If they beat DC, then MI will qualify for the playoffs.
3. Mitchell Starc (Delhi Capitals)
Delhi Capitals' key bowler, Mitchell Starc, will not be available for the IPL 2025 playoffs due to the upcoming World Test Championship 2025 Final. The WTC Final will be played between South Africa and Australia at Lord's in London from June 11-15, 2025. Starc is the most important bowler of the Australian bowling attack. He has already returned home for the upcoming ICC match and has made it clear that he will not be able to return to IPL 2025. He has taken 14 wickets for Delhi Capitals so far, and he was also the highest wicket-taker for his team. But now Delhi is going to miss Starc. Without Starc, Delhi's bowling line-up looks very ordinary, and they didn’t take a single wicket against the Gujarat Titans while defending 200 runs. Delhi's team is currently in the fifth position, and they will have to register consistent wins to reach the playoffs. And without Starc, this task looks very difficult.
