Hey everyone 👋

I'm Nivas — a computer science engineer by background, and a curious learner stepping into the vast world of cybersecurity. This is my first post on Hashnode, and I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share why I’ve decided to dive into this field.

🔍 Why Cybersecurity?

In today’s world, data is everything — and protecting it is critical. What fascinates me about cybersecurity isn’t just the cool tools or the adrenaline of catching threats. It’s the mindset. The ability to think like an attacker, but act like a defender. I'm especially drawn to the defensive side — SOC analysis, incident response, and digital forensics.

🛡️ My Focus Areas

I'm currently learning and building knowledge in:

  • SOC Analyst skills (threat detection, log analysis, SIEM tools)

  • Defensive cybersecurity techniques

  • Digital forensics and investigation basics

  • Real-world security case studies

I plan to document what I learn here — not just the successes, but also the confusion, setbacks, and “aha!” moments along the way.

✍️ Why I’m Blogging

I believe in learning in public. Writing helps me retain what I learn, and hopefully, it can help others who are on the same path. Expect walkthroughs, tips, resources, and personal reflections in the posts to come.

📣 Let’s Connect

If you’re into cybersecurity, or just curious about starting your journey — feel free to follow, drop a comment, or connect. I’m here to learn, share, and grow.

See you in the next post!
