How I Manage My 40,000 at 25

Hi, I’m Abi. I’m 25, work in IT, and this is how I stretch my salary without losing sleep.

Let’s get real.

I earn Rs.40,000/month. Not bad, but not exactly flex-worthy either.
In a world of Zomato Gold memberships, weekend brunches, and “Bro, just invest in stocks” DMs, it’s easy to feel like you’re falling behind.

But guess what? I’ve figured out a system that works for me.

Simple. Peaceful. Tamil-girl-approved™.

💸 My Monthly Budget (Reality Check):

CategoryAmount (Rs.)
House Rent + Bills10,000
Travel4,000
Debt10,000
Groceries & Essentials5,000
Total Spend29,000

That leaves me with Rs.11,000.

Now I could blow that on food, gadgets, or yet another pair of “productive” headphones.
But nah — I split it with future-me in mind.

🧠 How I Save from the Remaining:

Some months, I save more. Some months, I spend more on myself. But the key?
I track it. Always.

GoalAmount (Rs.)
LIC2,000
Recurring Deposit2,000
Gold Loan Saving5,000
Chill Budget (Me Time)2,000

🔒 3 Simple Rules I Swear By:

1. Auto-detect > Self-control
My bills and savings are auto-deducted. Salary comes, and it’s gone before I can accidentally Amazon it.

2. No big spending in the first 10 days
I wait. 90% of impulse buys vanish. Magic.

3. If I can’t afford it twice, I skip it
This mindset saved me from EMIs I can’t even pronounce, let alone pay.

☁️ Why I Choose Peace Over Pressure

I’m not chasing a crore-package (yet 😏). I’m chasing freedom, quiet growth, and the power to say “okay” when life throws a curveball.

In this IT life, where meetings feel like movie marathons and JIRA is basically jail — this budget gives me some control.

💬 You Can Do This Too

No matter your salary. Start small. Track it once. Build your rhythm.

You don’t need a finance degree or a YouTube guru yelling in caps. Just awareness, intention, and maybe a post office passbook that still smells like your grandpa’s cupboard.
