GenAI News - May 27, 2025

What an eventful week we had - with an overload of announcements from Microsoft, Google and Anthropic to name a few! The rapid growth in this domain is not only exponential - maybe the rate of growth itself is growing exponentially (reminds me of college when we initially learned velocity and acceleration)

Microsoft announced Github agents, that can be requested to work asynchronously and can fix issues in Github directly.

Google announced AI Pro, bunch of updates to the Gemini models, a new Gemma model and much more.

Anthropic launched the latest Claude models - Sonnet 4 and Opus 4, breaching previous benchmarks.

In parallel, there is also a race in the Code assistants domain - what was charged earlier, is now being given for free - primarily to get the initial attention and customers (DATA!!).
