Mumbai University UG Admissions 2025: First Merit List Out Today at mu.ac.in

Mumbai University is set to release the first merit list for undergraduate admissions today. Applicants for popular courses such as BA, BCom, BSc, BMS, BAF, BMM, BBI, BFM, and others can check their admission status on the university’s official website — mu.ac.in — as well as on individual college websites or notice boards.
This year, the University of Mumbai has received over 8.1 lakh applications for various undergraduate programmes, reflecting high demand across its affiliated colleges.
What Students Should Know:
Candidates whose names appear in the first merit list must verify all listed details — including name, category, and percentage — to avoid discrepancies. Any errors must be reported immediately to the respective college administration.
Document Verification and Fee Payment:
Selected students must complete the admission process, including document verification and fee payment, by May 30, 2025. Required documents include:
Original and photocopy of Class 12 marksheet
Caste/category certificate (if applicable)
Transfer/Leaving Certificate
Passport-size photographs
Valid photo ID proof
Upcoming Merit Lists:
For students who do not make it into the first list, there are still opportunities ahead. The second merit list will be published on May 31, followed by the third and final list on June 5. Each round will include a brief window for document submission and payment.
Course Popularity Trends:
Among the most sought-after programmes are commerce-related courses, which have drawn over 3.8 lakh applications. Science and professional streams show wide variation in interest, while traditional BA courses in the arts stream have attracted fewer than 50,000 applications. A few niche programmes, such as the Bachelor of Performing Arts, Bachelor of Fine Art, and BE in Printing and Packaging Technology, have seen applications in single digits.
Students are encouraged to track all official updates and follow admission instructions carefully to secure their desired course and college.
