Resilience, Roads & Realities — A Global View by Reza Kavosh

Resilience matters more than sales tricks. One of my best salespeople almost gave up after repeated failures — not due to lack of skill, but because nothing worked for a while. I reminded him: “That feeling is part of the journey.” Weeks later, he closed a major deal. That’s the power of perseverance.

India's infrastructure is at a turning point. Cement roads are rising fast due to durability and lower maintenance. Cities like Mumbai and Nagpur are leading this shift. Still, bitumen remains relevant — it’s faster to lay, cheaper upfront, and evolving with technologies like PMB and warm mix.

Bitumen imports are down 16% in 2024. Why? Slower GDP growth, IOCL's bulk buying, Iraq's price edge, and the move toward concrete. Indian refiners are adapting by improving blends to stay competitive.

In the logistics world, I've experienced both excellence and frustration. As Reza Kavosh, I’ve seen forwarders vanish after booking freight, give false ETAs, delay critical documents, and add surprise charges. These issues hurt trust — and business.

Across my work in India, the Middle East, and Africa, whether it’s bitumen, base oil, urea, or solar, I believe in building business on integrity and real partnerships. Trade may change — values shouldn’t.
