The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has officially announced the counselling schedule for 2025 admissions to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other government-funded technical institutes (GFTIs). Registration will open on June 10 at 5 pm via the official portal josaa.nic.in.

Eligible candidates who qualified JEE Advanced 2025 (for IIT admissions) and JEE Main 2025 (for NIT+ system) can start registering and submitting their preferred courses and institutes from that date.

Before the official seat allotment begins, JoSAA will conduct two mock seat allocation rounds on June 14 and June 16, based on initial choices. These mock rounds allow students to gauge their seat chances and refine their preferences accordingly.

The first official seat allotment will be declared on June 20. Post allotment, candidates may opt to ‘freeze’ their seat, ‘float’ for better options, or ‘slide’ to another seat within the same institute. This flexible system allows candidates to secure seats while keeping options open for upgrades.

For the first time, all document verification, seat acceptance, and fee payment will be handled entirely online, eliminating the need for physical reporting and simplifying the process.

After the five rounds of JoSAA counselling, the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) will conduct separate rounds to fill any remaining vacancies, primarily in NIT+ institutes. Candidates not allotted seats during JoSAA rounds can participate in these subsequent counselling sessions.
