Threat Intelligence Service

A Threat Intelligence Service (TIS) helps businesses anticipate risks, study them and stop threats before significant damage is done. By looking at data from places such as hacker forums, open-source intelligence (OSINT) and the dark web, as well as from within an organization’s network, a TIS is able to give useful tips that improve overall security.

Essentially, a TIS helps security teams to recognize the strategies, approaches and routines (TTPs) of threat actors, making it easier to block attacks before they begin. Usually, this intelligence is organized into 4 levels—strategic, tactical, operational and technical—and each level addresses different needs within the organization, from top-level management to defense officers.

To handle millions of data records in real time, many current-day threat intelligence solutions rely on technology such as automation and machine learning, giving out targeted threat reports, IOCs and notifications. Because of these insights, responding to threats faster, assessing risks and making better security decisions becomes easier.

Indeed, Threat Intelligence Services help a lot in threat hunting, patching vulnerabilities and meeting compliance rules. Part of their role is to help organizations change from a reactive approach to a proactive security position, decreasing the risks and effects of security incidents.

Because threats are always changing, making sure businesses protect themselves requires investing in a robust Threat Intelligence Service.
