I Don’t Just Design — I Build

Hi, I’m Miraya. A frontend design engineer.
That means I don’t just make things look good, and I don’t just wire them up to work.
I do both.
And I believe that’s one of the most overlooked superpowers in product teams today.
Here's what I've seen on too many projects:
Design and development are often treated as two separate departments, with a handoff in the middle, like a relay race.
The designer finishes the Figma file, drops it into Slack, and moves on. The developer picks it up, tries to interpret it, and starts building. Delays happen. Miscommunication creeps in. UX decisions get lost in translation.
Deadlines slip. Quality suffers. And the end result often doesn’t feel quite right.
Sound familiar?
What if that handoff didn’t have to happen?
In my work, I blur the lines between design and development.
I design directly in Figma, yes… But I also implement what I design. I don’t just visualize the user experience, I bring it to life.
Using tools like React, Tailwind CSS, Framer Motion, and TypeScript, I can translate design intent into real, production-grade UI, without the back and forth, without compromise.
Why does this matter?
Because it’s not about doing more. It’s about doing it smarter.
Fewer miscommunications between teams
Faster iteration cycles
Better alignment with business goals
More intuitive, consistent user interfaces
And most importantly —> a better experience for the end user
This isn’t about being a “unicorn.”
It’s about being fluent in both design and code and knowing when to lead with one or the other to move the project forward.
For companies and teams:
Whether you're a startup moving fast or an enterprise scaling responsibly, having someone who can own both sides of the product experience isn’t a luxury.. It’s a competitive edge.
Design and development don’t have to be separate silos.
Sometimes the best products are built when they’re not.
