RCB Fans May Not Get the Parade They Were Waiting For

RCB Wins IPL Title for the First Time in 18 Years

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finally won their first Indian Premier League (IPL) title in 2025. They beat Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 6 runs in a close final on Tuesday. This win ended RCB’s 18-year wait for an IPL trophy.

RCB is one of the most popular teams in the league. Many fans support them, especially because of star player Virat Kohli. People were expecting a big celebration in Bengaluru with an open-top bus parade on Wednesday.

But now, it looks like that parade may not happen. Sources told NDTV that the bus parade is unlikely. The main reason is Bengaluru’s heavy traffic. The city is one of the most crowded in India. Officials want to avoid big crowds to keep things safe and smooth.

Instead of a street parade, there will be a special event for the team at their home ground — the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. This ceremony will happen on Wednesday from 5 PM to 6 PM. Only people with tickets or passes will be allowed inside.

The public has been asked to use Metro trains and public transport to reach the stadium. Parking space is limited. Also, people should stay away from the Central Business District area between 3 PM and 8 PM to avoid traffic problems.

A large crowd is expected at the stadium. The RCB players will take a victory lap, like Team India did in Mumbai after winning the T20 World Cup in 2024.

How RCB Won the Final

RCB was led in the final by Rajat Patidar. Many players gave important performances. Krunal Pandya bowled very well and helped RCB defend their score of 190 runs.

Virat Kohli scored 43 runs from 35 balls, but RCB only managed to reach 190/9 because PBKS bowled well. At that point, many thought RCB might lose again. Kohli had already lost in three IPL finals during his long 18-year career.

But this time, the bowlers saved the game. Krunal Pandya gave only 17 runs and took 2 wickets in his 4 overs. Punjab Kings tried hard but ended at 184/7, just 6 runs short.

PBKS batter Shashank Singh almost pulled off a miracle. He scored 61 runs from 30 balls and hit three sixes and a four in the last over. But RCB held their nerve and finally lifted the IPL trophy.

This is RCB’s first IPL title. They also won the Women’s Premier League (WPL) in 2024, so now both their men’s and women’s teams are champions.

A Long Journey Ends in Joy

RCB has often been called a team that underachieves. They had great players but never won the big prize — until now. In 2025, they had a great season. They finished second in the league stage and reached the final directly by beating PBKS in Qualifier 1.

This year, everything finally came together. RCB fans now have a big reason to celebrate.
