Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had earlier announced on social media that they would hold an open bus parade to celebrate their IPL 2025 victory. On Tuesday, June 3rd, RCB won their first-ever Indian Premier League (IPL) title by defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final by six runs.
The celebrations started immediately in the dressing room, as the team finally clinched the trophy after three previous unsuccessful attempts. The franchise had also planned an open bus parade in Bengaluru to mark the historic win.
RCB’s official X (formerly Twitter) account shared that the parade was scheduled to go from Vidhana Soudha to M Chinnaswamy Stadium starting at 3:30 PM. However, the latest updates confirm that the open bus parade has now been cancelled.
No Open Bus Parade in Bengaluru; RCB Team to Be Honored at M Chinnaswamy Stadium
The Bengaluru Traffic Police confirmed on X that there will be no open bus parade in Bengaluru. The parade has been canceled due to heavy traffic congestion in the city. They also advised people to avoid the roads around M Chinnaswamy Stadium because of the felicitation ceremony.
“Due to the felicitation ceremony for the RCB team at Chinnaswamy Stadium from 5 PM to 6 PM, the public is advised to avoid roads around Vidhan Soudha and Chinnaswamy Stadium from 3 PM to 8 PM. There will be no victory parade because of limited parking. The public is encouraged to use the Metro and other public transport,” the Bengaluru Traffic Police statement said.
The players will now be honored at their home ground, M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Additionally, former RCB stars Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers will join the celebrations with the current RCB team.
Both Gayle and de Villiers played crucial roles in the 2011 and 2016 seasons when RCB finished as runners-up. They congratulated Kohli after the victory and wore RCB jerseys to celebrate the win following the final match.
Meanwhile, celebrations also erupted across Bengaluru on Tuesday night after triumph in the IPL 2025 final. Fans took to the streets, lighting firecrackers and cheering loudly. successfully defended a total of 191 runs against PBKS in the final.
