Tonkeeper setup and receiving Testnet coins

In today's article we will learn how to setup your Tonkeeper wallet, create your testnet wallet, receive testnet coins and activating your wallet by making a transaction.

Firstly head on to https://ton.org/

Then click on the "Use" section at the top and click on "Get a Wallet" as shown in the picture below

After that you will see a list of TON based wallets available to setup. Now click on Tonkeeper and choose the right option for your device be it android or iOS and so on.

After installing the wallet open the app and click on the Create new wallet button

Then it will ask you to create a passcode and re-enter it so do it respectively

Now allow the required permissions

Then it's time to customize your Wallet name, enter whatever name you like

Finally your wallet is all setup. Now it's time to back it up so for that go to the setting icon at the top right

Now click on the Backup option

Write down the secret phrase at some place to keep it safe and then use it for backup check further

Now your wallet is backed up manually

Now it's time to setup your Testnet wallet

Click on your wallet at the top and then click on the Add wallet button at the bottom

Now a window for adding wallet will appear, out of them select Testnet account

Now it's time to customize your wallet name, choose whatever name you like

Now your testnet wallet is all setup

Now its time to get some testnet coins in your wallet

Open your Telegram app and in the search bar type Testgiver TON bot

After clicking on it click on the start button at the bottom of the bot window

Now click on the Get 2 TON in Testnet button in the prompt

Solve the captcha and enter the testnet wallet address as shown below

Now wait for some time and keep checking your testnet wallet for the testnet coins. After sometime you'll see the balance reflecting in your wallet

Tap on the address to copy it then open testnet.tonviewer.com and paste it there to see the status of your wallet

Right now your wallet is not active and we need to activate it by sending TON to some wallet. Click on the send button here

Now enter the any other testnet wallet address and the amount you want to send and click on Continue.

Now refresh the tonscan window and you'll see Active written in green in the bottom left above which means now your wallet is active.

Now you're all set with your wallet and testnet coins and all prepared for using them to deploy contract on TON.
