Learning Networking via TryHackMe

🔐 Networking in Cybersecurity – My First Step via TryHackMe
Hi everyone!
I'm Pravin, a 2nd-year Computer Engineering student taking my first real step into the world of Cybersecurity.
🌐 Why Start with Networking?
Before you can secure systems, you must understand how they talk to each other.
Networking is the base of almost every cyber attack and defense strategy.
I started learning through TryHackMe’s “Introduction to Networking” room. It was simple, practical, and beginner-friendly — perfect for students like me.
📚 What I Learned This Week
✅ What is a network and how devices communicate
✅ Types of networks: LAN, WAN, PAN
✅ Key protocols: IP, TCP, UDP, HTTP/HTTPS
✅ Network devices: Router, Switch, Firewall
✅ Basics of IP addressing, MAC, and packets
Every section had real-world explanations and hands-on labs, making the experience fun and practical.
🔒 Why Networking Matters in Cybersecurity
Helps detect suspicious traffic and unauthorized access
Forms the base for tools like firewalls, IDS, and VPNs
Essential to understand before moving into ethical hacking, blue teaming, or red teaming
🚀 My Thoughts
This is just the beginning of my cybersecurity journey.
I'm excited to explore more rooms on TryHackMe, share my learnings, and connect with others in this field.
