Is your website hiding critical issues? No worries, you don’t need to be a dev pro. BrowserStack’s Free Website Scanner lets you scan up to 10,000 pages, no code needed. Spot problems like poor color contrast or missing alt tags instantly.

Let’s walk through it, step by step.

1. Go to BrowserStack & Click “Scan your site for free”

At the very top, you’ll see a banner saying “Scan your site for free.” Click that!

2. Sign Up or Log In

You’ll be directed to a login/sign-up page. If you don’t have an account, create one, it’s quick and free.

3. See the Scanner Dashboard

Once logged in, you’ll land on the Website Scanner dashboard. Just below Create your first scan, you’ll see that you can scan up to 10,000 pages in one go. Need more features? Click "Buy a Plan" at the top right to explore affordable paid options. For now, click “Create a new scan

4. Create a New Scan

Now let’s set up your scan. Refer to the image below for guidance, each arrow points to a key part of the form:

  • 🟦 Blue Arrow: Paste the URL(s) of the pages you want to scan. You can add up to 10,000 pages.

  • 🟪 Purple Arrow: After pasting each URL, make sure to click “Add page” to include it in the scan list.

  • 🟨 Yellow Arrow: Alternatively, you can upload a CSV file if you have a long list of pages to scan.

  • ⬜️ Gray Arrow: Give your scan a clear name (e.g. Portfolio Landing Page).

  • 🟩 Green Arrow: Set your scan schedule, you can run it now, pick a later date, or make it recurring.

  • Black Arrow: This section confirms that your page(s) have been added successfully.

  • 🟥 Red Arrow: When everything looks good, click “Create Scan” to start scanning.

5. Wait for the Magic to Happen ✨

BrowserStack works its magic in the background. Once the scan is complete, it will display any detected issues.

In our result, three issues were detected, as highlighted by the arrow in the image below.

Click “Issues” to view your scan details, including the Summary, All Issues, and Scan Logs. Explore each to see the impact and severity (e.g., critical, serious, moderate, minor).

As shown below, my portfolio landing page has an accessibility score of 97, with 2 serious issues and 1 moderate issue.

7. Fix the Issues in Your Codebase

Scroll down to see the affected components in your code, as shown in the image below. Open your code editor (e.g. VS Code), fix the issues based on the feedback, save your changes, and push them live. If you're not a developer, simply share the issue details with your dev team.

Explore the “All Issues” and “Scan Logs” sections to see exactly where your site fails WCAG standards and why (e.g. poor contrast between text and background).

After fixing the issues, rescan your site to verify that your fixes worked. Keep tweaking until everything is green. ✅

💡 Why You Should Care

  • No code needed – Copy-paste URLs, done.

  • Catch invisible issues – Like accessibility or visual glitches.

  • Stay ahead – Schedule scans weekly to avoid surprises.

  • Free plan rocks – 10k pages is super generous.

BrowserStack’s Free Website Scanner is like a website health check-up, it’s quick, painless, and totally beginner-friendly. Whether you’re building your first portfolio or managing client sites, this tool helps you look pro without trying too hard.
