‘His hands move faster than a pickpocket’, what did Ravi Shastri say while praising MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni was recently inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame.
Great Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni has achieved yet another milestone. He has been inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame, making him the 11th Indian cricketer to receive this honour. On this historic achievement, former Indian cricketer and coach Ravi Shastri praised Dhoni in a unique way. Shastri compared Dhoni’s lightning fast wicketkeeping to a pickpocket and said that his hands are so fast that the batsman’s ‘wallet’ i.e. wicket disappears in the blink of an eye.
Dhoni’s wicketkeeping: A threat for batsmen
Dhoni’s presence behind the wicket has always been a danger signal for batsmen. A slight mistake and the batsman had to make his way to the pavilion. His captaincy, batting and especially wicketkeeping made the whole world crazy about him.
Ravi Shastri praised Dhoni at an ICC function and said, “His hands are faster than a pickpocket. If you are playing a big match in India, especially in Ahmedabad, you would never want Dhoni behind the wicket. Look back, your wallet will disappear.”
Dhoni’s restraint and leadership
Shastri also praised Dhoni’s calm nature. He said that Dhoni controls his emotions in every situation. “Whether he is out on zero or wins the World Cup, he is always the same. Be it a century or a double century, his style remains the same.” Dhoni’s stability has given him a different position in the cricket world.
Dhoni’s great achievements
Under his captaincy, Mahendra Singh Dhoni led India to the T20 World Cup in 2007 and the ODI World Cup in 2011. Apart from this, India also won the Champions Trophy in 2013 under his leadership. Now with his inclusion in the ICC Hall of Fame, Dhoni’s name has been written in even more golden letters in cricket history. Do you think that we will see another captain like Dhoni soon?
