Village vibes

The soul of villages is something you must experience firsthand. After a long gap, I visited my mama’s house yesterday. The area has changed drastically compared to the old days—now it’s become better. And it is my favorite spot forever because the "kuttai" (pond) near the house blooms cheerfully with lilies. And trees around the place is sky high!

Back then, towering bamboos stood in front of the house—so thick even Kung Fu Panda would’ve needed help to crack them! Beside the house, there was a mango tree that yielded tons of fruit, where I used to spot peacocks perched on top. Now, the veranda overflows with roses and hibiscus. They’re petting a jet-black dog named Ramu.

The meal? Heavenly—fluffy white rice with spicy chicken curry 😋. A neighbor gifted us sweet Pongal for a temple festival, and it was deliriously delicious. Yes, this visit was worth every second.
