50°C Outside, and We're Still Ignoring the Real Heat Inside Us?

Table of contents
This is not just a hot summer❗️
It is the hottest India has ever seen -- cities are blistering at 50 degrees Celsius, there is no water and power loadshedding is our new normal.
But here’s the tough question I had to ask myself:
Can we fight climate change while also fighting each other❓❓
We are recycling bottles while recycling hate on social media.
We are conserving electricity, yet burning all bridges between communities.
If we want to cross boundaries to cooler the planet, maybe we first need to cross boundaries to cool our anger, hate, and silence.
Let’s face it:
🌍 Divided we cannot resolve a crisis that requires everyone to unify.
🌿 Climate action requires protecting the world physically, and protecting ourselves from how we dehumanize even those we disagree with.
Everyday climate action would look like:
-> Turning off the AC when we are not in the room
-> Speaking out when someone is acting in hate
-> Not taking cars; taking public transit and taking individuals
-> Consuming less and critiquing less
⭐️ We do not only need awareness - we NEED kindness with awareness. ⭐️
Cool the planet, calm the hate ....by starting with your home, your feed, your street. ☘️
Comment your city and one thing you’re doing to stay cool and kind.
