Zack Hoyt, popularly known as Asmongold, was born on April 20, 1990, in Austin, Texas. His love and fascination with games began early, with a special interest in role-playing games.
At 16, a friend introduced him to World of Warcraft, igniting a passion that would shape his future.
Asmongold balanced his academics and gaming fabulously; he studied business at the University of North Texas. His mother’s bad health called for a good son who fulfilled his duties with full devotion and dedication. He took his mother’s care into his own hands with full-time care, and for that, he dropped out of his graduation.
This period marked the beginning of his content creation journey, as he started uploading World of Warcraft guides on YouTube in 2009.
His unique insights and engaging personality quickly garnered a following, prompting him to transition to Twitch streaming in 2014. Asmongold’s authenticity and deep understanding of MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Games) resonated with viewers, propelling him to internet stardom.
