How We Built JeunSoft: A Restaurant Management Solution for Nigerian Food Businesses

Many restaurant owners in Nigeria struggle to manage orders, tables, staff, and payments efficiently. Most tools available were either too expensive, too complex, or not tailored to our local market.
That’s why we created JeunSoft — a smart, user-friendly restaurant management system designed specifically for Nigerian food businesses.
Why We Built JeunSoft
The typical Nigerian restaurant faces a unique set of challenges:
Manual order processing leads to delays and errors.
Table management is often chaotic, especially during peak hours.
Payment reconciliation can be a nightmare.
Owners want real-time data, but can’t afford expensive systems.
We spoke with restaurant owners, cashiers, waiters, and even food delivery riders. The feedback was clear: “Give us a solution that just works — without breaking the bank.”
What JeunSoft Does
JeunSoft is an all-in-one SaaS platform that helps restaurants:
✅ Manage menus in real-time
✅ Accept payments via Flutterwave, Paystack, and cash
✅ Process orders seamlessly from table to kitchen
✅ Organize seating zones and reservations
✅ Monitor staff activity with permission control
✅ Track sales and performance through auto-generated reports
✅ Offer QR code menus and contactless ordering
We built it to be mobile-friendly, easy to use, and reliable — even with patchy internet.
Our Tech Stack
To keep things fast and scalable, we used:
Frontend: React + TailwindCSS
Backend: Node.js + Express
Database: PostgreSQL
Authentication & Payments: Firebase Auth, Flutterwave, and Paystack APIs
Cloud: Hosted on DigitalOcean
The entire system is modular — which means restaurants only use what they need.
Challenges We Faced
Offline reliability: Some areas don’t have constant internet. We had to add local caching and queueing.
UX for non-tech-savvy users: Many users are not digital natives. Every button, page, and icon was tested for clarity.
Payment gateway integration: Ensuring seamless transactions with Nigerian payment providers took time and careful testing.
The Road Ahead
JeunSoft is live and onboarding early customers. In the coming months, we’re rolling out:
