The Sports Tube Platform: Merging Performance, Video, and AI Content Strategy

When I built the Sports Tube Platform, I didn’t just want it to look good—I wanted it to perform flawlessly. The platform includes two interconnected sites:
🎥 Sports Tube: A fast-loading video blog for sports fans.
📰 Sports Tube Community: A written blog full of articles, player features, and case studies.
Together, they demonstrate what’s possible when AI content creation, SEO strategy, and performance optimization are built into a site from the ground up.
The Mission: A Sports Platform That’s Blazing Fast & Rich in Content
This project was about showing that:
A video-heavy site can load fast
AI-powered content can still rank well
Core Web Vitals can be perfected with precision
As a portfolio centerpiece, this platform was a chance to prove what I could accomplish as a solo developer and AI content specialist—from design and structure to SEO and accessibility.
Design & Performance Goals
I approached this project with three pillars in mind:
Responsiveness: Layouts adjust cleanly from mobile to desktop, using grid-based designs and optimized spacing.
Speed: Every page was engineered to load instantly across devices.
Clarity: Typography, contrast, and layout were designed for both accessibility (WCAG) and user comfort.
To maintain performance while hosting dozens of images and videos, I used:
Cloudinary AVIF/WEBP images via
<picture>
andsrcset
Preload strategies for hero images and fonts
AI-generated article text & imagery
Schema markup for search engine context
The Result: A Perfect 100/100 Page Speed Insights Score
After launch and tuning, both sites achieved:
100/100 Desktop
100/100 Mobile
CLS: 0.00
LCP: Under 1.2s
Accessibility: Full compliance
SEO: Top performance grade
⚠️ Note: These scores reflect the site’s status as of the most recent audit. PageSpeed Insights results may fluctuate slightly based on browser versions, network speeds, or changes to Google’s scoring algorithms.
The results were not just visual. The performance and SEO grades are directly embedded on each site’s dedicated "The Grade" page, so anyone can see the metrics for themselves.
AI-Powered Content Strategy
All articles and videos across the platform are part of a strategic content plan:
Articles were drafted using ChatGPT, optimized using Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Google Search Console data.
Schema markup was added using JSON-LD for every article to support visibility in rich results.
Alt tags, meta descriptions, and structured headings were generated and reviewed for SEO performance.
AI tools also played a major role in:
Keyword selection
Writing intros and summaries
Creating custom feature images in Canva & MidJourney
Stack & Tools
HTML / CSS / JavaScript
Netlify (for blazing-fast hosting)
Cloudinary (image delivery in AVIF format)
ChatGPT (AI content generation)
MidJourney + Canva (AI visuals)
SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console (SEO optimization)
JSON-LD (structured data for schema)
HubSpot SEO & Content Marketing Certifications
Final Thoughts
Through this project, I demonstrated how a solo developer can:
Combine video + written content
Reach top PageSpeed Insights scores
Use AI to write, design, and structure content
Build SEO-optimized experiences that users and search engines love
This project isn’t just a display of performance—it’s a blueprint for how AI-powered websites can be lean, fast, and SEO-strong from the start.
