The Texas Remodelers Project: A Case Study in AI-Powered Content Engineering, Performance, and SEO

When I began rebuilding the Texas Remodelers site, I wasn’t just recovering a WordPress website—I was constructing a high-performance content experience from the ground up. Designed for a commercial remodeling company, this project tested my ability to wear multiple hats: content engineer, performance optimizer, and UX strategist.
The goal? Create a fast, accessible, AI-powered site that would stand out on PageSpeed Insights—and in the eyes of both users and search engines.
This case study is part of my portfolio series showcasing how AI content creation, semantic HTML, and Web Vitals engineering can drive exceptional digital experiences.
The Challenge: Lost Files, Broken Hosting, and a Site in Limbo
The original WordPress site was developed in a local environment with no working backup. After a system update wiped access, I was left with only export files, screenshots, and browser-stored assets.
Instead of starting from scratch, I reverse-engineered the layout, recreated the content, and built a fully responsive static site using HTML and CSS—deployed via Netlify.
Recovery Focus:
Convert inaccessible WordPress content into a fully responsive static site
Rebuild layout and structure from memory and assets
Integrate SEO and Core Web Vitals optimization early in development
The Design Strategy: Clean, Responsive, Accessible
The target audience—remodeling clients and contractors—demanded a site that was both informative and easy to navigate. I focused on clarity, performance, and a clean layout.
Highlights:
Modern grid layout with clear service sections and CTAs
Mobile-first styling with
aspect-ratio
,clamp()
, andcontent-visibility
Accessible fonts, color contrast, and WCAG-compliant design
Responsive

elements and AVIF images optimized for LCP
The result: a streamlined, high-performance layout that aligns with branding while remaining technically sound.
AI Content Creation & SEO Engineering
Every piece of content on the site was generated using AI tools like ChatGPT, enhanced with Grammarly, and refined through SEO research.
Content Strategy:
Keyword research using SEMrush and Google Search Console
Structured headings with semantic HTML
JSON-LD schema markup for enhanced visibility
Open Graph and Twitter meta tags for social sharing optimization
This approach enabled the site to rank more quickly—even during development.
Performance Optimization: From Work in Progress to 100/100
Though still in its recovery phase, I optimized the site as if preparing it for launch. Using Google PageSpeed Insights, I focused on Core Web Vitals and real-world performance metrics.
Optimization Techniques:
CLS prevention with static layout sizing and font-display strategies
AI-generated AVIF images for fast-loading LCP
Async/defer scripts and preconnect for non-blocking performance
CSS delivery improvements and media-specific loading
📈 Final Score:
100/100 on Desktop
98/100 on Mobile
Why This Matters for Content Engineering at Meta
Meta values content experiences that are fast, scalable, and structured. This project demonstrates my ability to go beyond content creation and engineer systems that deliver measurable performance.
I don’t just write—I build content ecosystems that:
Load instantly
Rank competitively
Engage audiences
Scale using AI workflows
This case study showcases cross-functional execution—from semantic code to UX design and technical SEO—all of which are foundational to a strong Content Engineer role at Meta.
