Building Plantsy

🌿 Plantsy: A Web App I Created Before College Began
One personal project. A few late nights. And a lot of learning — before my first semester even started.
✨ How It Started
Before starting my B.Tech in Computer Science, I wanted to build something that wasn’t just another practice assignment — something meaningful.
So I created Plantsy, a plant delivery web app. It began as a simple idea for a birthday gift and became my first real full-stack project.
💻 What I Built
A responsive homepage showcasing plants
Add-to-cart and checkout functionality
Google Login with Firebase Authentication
Firestore database integration for plant listings
Admin panel for managing products
Framer Motion animations for smooth UI
A “Thank You” page to wrap it up warmly
Built entirely with:
React + TypeScript + CSS + Firebase + Framer Motion
🧠 What I Learned
Start before you're ready. Waiting for college to teach me everything would have delayed what I now know.
Real projects teach better. Tutorials are great, but debugging something you built hits different.
Design matters. Making things feel intuitive and warm helped me understand real-world UI/UX better.
Patience is key. Errors, roadblocks, deploy issues — all part of the process.
🎁 Why It Mattered
Beyond the tech, this project mattered because it was personal.
I built it as a gift for someone close to me, which made me more determined to finish and polish it well. That intention made a big difference in how I approached the work.
📌 Final Thoughts
I’m still at the very beginning of my academic journey. But this one project gave me a glimpse into what I want to keep doing — building things that are functional, intentional, and a little bit beautiful.
Whether it’s for learning or for people I care about, I want to keep making.
🌿 Sneak Peek of Plantsy
Here’s a little glimpse of how the app turned out:
“Plantsy was born out of love for plants — and one amazing mom.” 💚
The About page says it all, simply and sweetly.
A clean, centered login screen with Firebase Auth integration.
Minimal, responsive, and user-friendly — just how I wanted it.
Thank you for reading.
