Let's begin

Background
I’ve always had an interest in computers and electronics, but my first real encounter with programming came when I was studying to become an engineer with a focus on economics. We had the option to add software development to our curriculum, and that’s where I was introduced to Java – my first programming language.
Later on, I explored Python, AI, machine learning, agile methodologies, and more. I’d say I’ve gained a fair amount of knowledge in the field, but I don’t have much to show for it yet. That’s why I’m starting The Odin Project – to learn web development properly and to build real projects that demonstrate my skills.
Why
I’m someone who values freedom. I’ve never liked the idea of working in a traditional job, and I’ve always wanted to work for myself – whenever, however, and wherever I want.
The IT field offers many ways to achieve that kind of freedom. The only thing I need now is the knowledge – and the proof that I can actually build things.
The Plan
Here’s what I’m starting with:
Work through The Odin Project
Create a portfolio website
Offer some free projects to gain experience
Get clients
Will I follow through on all of this?
Guess we’ll see.
