Day 16 — A Slow Day with a Powerful Realization

Hi everyone,

Today I had planned to complete the ELEMENTS OF AI course, but I was only able to finish the first chapter. That’s because most of my day went into something else—searching for universities that offer Health Informatics or Digital Health courses.

The hard part is that for many of the good programs, the application deadlines have already passed. Still, I was lucky enough to apply to one university today, even though I was five days late. Now I’m just waiting to hear back.

There’s another university I really want to apply to, but I’m still trying to figure out if I can apply through a referral or another route. Not sure if it’ll work out, but I’m doing my best.

I genuinely like the university I’ve already applied to—it has a solid curriculum that aligns with my goals. The only thing is, it’s located in a semi-rural area. The other one I’m still trying for is in a big metropolitan city, plus I wouldn’t need a hostel since my grandparents live nearby. That university also has a more diverse student body, which is something I’d love to experience.

But at the end of the day, what matters most is the course itself—and the kind of opportunities it will open up.

While reflecting on all of this today, I had a small realization.

I understood the difference between being ambitious and being greedy.

Ambition is about focusing on ourselves. No matter what path we choose or what challenges we face, we give our 100% to grow, learn, and move forward. It’s about becoming better than who we were yesterday.

Greed, on the other hand, makes us compare ourselves with others constantly. It pushes us to chase things that aren’t always meant for us, and we end up feeling inferior, overwhelmed, or even angry. That path often leads to burnout and emotional exhaustion.

In both ambition and greed, the hard work might look the same—but the outcome is very different.

So here I am, staying ambitious, doing my best to stick to my journey, and reminding myself to stay focused on my own growth.

More tomorrow.
