Some thoughts after European Power Platform Conference

Ok. Here are my main observations and some conclusions after returning from the European Power Platform Conference:

  • AI, AI, AI everywhere! And it looks like it may be finally somehow useful for Power Platform developers and app makers (I’m not talking about you, GitHub Copilot; you’re the best coding-supporting tool since the first IntelliSense implementation).
  • Microsoft strongly pushes for an AI agentic approach when building Power Platform solutions. Sometimes in a little senseless way, when an AI-based agent is proposed where standard automation would be totally enough.

  • Synapse Dataverse link makes no sense anymore (considering 90% of use cases). Long live Microsoft Fabric integration!

  • Functional modules built with traditional code (JavaScript, React, etc.) may experience their renaissance because (surprise!) they won’t be created by people anymore but by AI agents. I suppose the only good thing from that could be Power Fx expansion stopping. I suppose nobody will be missing it😉.

Finally, it is always great to talk to many interesting people, find out how they work, and build solutions. I love discovering different small tools, best practices, and methods of delivering things that may be observed when discussing or presenting totally different, “bigger” topics. And in my opinion, this is the true value from events like this one.
