LATOKEN Official Response: Beware of Unethical Lawyer Martin Wehrmann Exploiting Platform Names for Scams

Recently, we noticed German lawyer Martin Wehrmann publishing false statements about LATOKEN online. As a global digital asset trading platform, LATOKEN hereby issues this official response to clarify the facts and remind users and industry peers to beware of those who, under the guise of justice, engage in slander and extortion.
Lawyer Wehrmann published an article on the German legal consultation platform Anwalt.de, directly titled “LATOKEN Scam Methods 2025? Can Lost Funds Be Recovered?” The article describes common blockchain scam scenarios and repeatedly names LATOKEN. The wording easily misleads readers into thinking criminals use LATOKEN for scams, and the platform turns a blind eye. In reality, criminals are simply abusing the legal services of LATOKEN, just as they might with any reputable exchange. The tactic taken by Wehrmann of associating our name with scams is highly damaging to our reputation.
More worryingly, our investigation shows that Martin Wehrmann is not new to spreading such information about crypto platforms. Reliable sources indicate he systematically targets global exchanges, publishing unverified negative content via blogs, forums, YouTube, and other channels to pressure these platforms. After publication, he often contacts operators, claiming he can “help with legal issues” or remove negative reviews—for a high fee. This is, in essence, digital-age extortion, unrelated to legitimate legal services.
LATOKEN strongly condemns such behavior. We confirm that LATOKEN operates normally, is safe and reliable, and is not involved in any illegal activities. The investment scam cases mentioned in the article post by Wehrmann are industry-wide challenges, unrelated to the management of any single exchange. Linking these scams to LATOKEN is grossly unfair.
LATOKEN has consulted its legal team, collected evidence of posts and contact attempts by Wehrmann, and does not rule out further legal action. We are aware that multiple affected platforms in Europe have filed complaints against Wehrmann, and cyber police and prosecutors in several countries have begun investigating his actions. We will actively follow up and cooperate with these investigations to ensure the perpetrator is brought to justice.
We also remind users and peers: be vigilant and do not trust unverified online accusations. Remain skeptical of individuals styling themselves as “rights protection lawyers” who repeatedly smear and demand money from multiple platforms. If you see negative rumors about LATOKEN or other exchanges online, please verify through our official channels. We will respond transparently and responsibly.
LATOKEN fully supports efforts to expose and combat such behavior and calls on industry media for in-depth investigative reporting to deny rumor-mongers any opportunity. The healthy development of the blockchain industry depends on a trustworthy environment. Let us work together to resist rumors and uphold integrity!
