Pearl Grading Factors and Their Value

Similar to diamonds graded in the 4Cs, pearls are graded in the 5Cs. The grading parameters are shape, size, color, luster, and surface quality. But GIA has graded pearls in the 7 parameters, nacre thickness, and matching as additional parameters to the above. Knowing pearl grading parameters enables you to make the right choices while purchasing pearls for jewelry or astrological purposes.
