Emiliano Martinez has the whole summer ahead of him. However, he suffered his first setback before the start of pre-season. Although Emery Martinez is keen to join Manchester United, the Red Devils have not shown any interest in him so far. This was reported recently by the British media outlet The Telegraph.

Man United are not showing interest in Amy Martinez mainly because current goalkeeper Andre Onana does not want to leave the club. However, while United has fallen behind, another big club has stepped forward in the race to get Amy.

The Telegraph claims that Spanish club Atletico Madrid are ready to take Aston Villa’s Argentine goalkeeper on the team if they are looking for a goalkeeper this summer. The Saudi Pro League is quite interested in bringing Martinez to the team. However, Martinez does not want to leave Europe right now, and Atletico Madrid wants to take that opportunity.

Atletico Madrid are closely monitoring Martinez’s situation. They could make an offer for Martinez if long-time goalkeeper Jan Oblak leaves the club. The 32-year-old Slovenian goalkeeper Oblak is currently playing for Atletico in the Club World Cup. However, rumors of his departure from the team have been circulating regularly for the past few seasons. This time too, it has come to the fore.

And while there have been some rumours of a move for Martinez from Manchester United, the club are not thought to be making any moves for the time being.

Several clubs are currently monitoring Emiliano Martinez and several other Aston Villa players. Villa may be forced to sell some players to comply with Premier League financial regulations. They previously sold Colombian forward Jon Duran to Al-Nassr in January and Moussa Diaby to Al-Ittihad last summer.
