From Pause to Play: Rediscovering My Voice in Tech

For the past four months, I’ve been quiet, at least online.

No blog posts. No new tech threads. No tutorials. No writing of code since the beginning of the year. No learning about AI in general. My brain just needed space! It was beeping, storage is low!

But behind the silence, life was full. I stepped away from technical writing to focus on other parts of my life that were asking for attention. Some of those moments were intentional, others unexpected, but they all shaped how I’m showing up now.

What I’ve Been Doing

In these four months, I dove into a world that felt both familiar and foreign: building a fashion brand from the ground up (https://www.instagram.com/optimizerluxe/). It was a different kind of problem-solving, one that demanded creativity, patience, and trust in timing.

I also took time to reflect on who I am when I’m not putting pressure on myself to learn DSA, and all those tools we use in tech, and publishing.
There were moments of inspiration, but also days of doubt. This season is really teaching me what growth looks like. Here is one of those lessons I am holding onto this moment. Growth doesn’t always look like results, sometimes it looks like resilience, clarity, systems, boundaries, or healing.

I wrestled with feeling “behind” in tech. I questioned my value outside my output. But I also discovered a deeper connection to storytelling, design, and the kind of work that fills me up rather than burns me out.

What I’ve Learned

  • Slowness can be productive.

  • You can love tech and take space from it.

  • Your value isn’t in how visible you are, sometimes growth happens in quiet places.

Why I’m Returning

Lately, I’ve felt the itch to write again. To share, reflect, and explore what’s happening in the world of tech — with fresh eyes.

So here I am, back at the keyboard, excited (and a little nervous) to begin again. I love product business, so I will continue to write about AI, ML and CV, because I missed them all. However, I want to give myself the chance to write about products, and all the good stuffs happening around it.

In my next post, I’ll be diving into something that just launched today: Amazon’s latest ring product feature: Ring Video Descriptions. It’s a big step toward accessibility, and I can’t wait to explore what it means for smart home tech.

The plan for me is to take it slowly, by writing twice a month, so I don't get overwhelmed and burnt out again. My blog would be released every Monday, so stay alert and comment as well.

But for now, I just wanted to say:
Hi again.
I missed this.

Question

Have you ever taken a break that changed your perspective? I’d love to hear your thoughts on it.
