‘I want to make you a Bollywood hero’, Shikhar Dhawan reveals first dressing room conversation with MS Dhoni

Dhawan reveals the untold story of his first conversation with MS Dhoni.
Former India opener Shikhar Dhawan recently launched his autobiography, The One: Cricket, My Life and More. In it, he revealed the untold story of his first conversation with former captain MS Dhoni. This conversation took place during the ODI debut series against Australia in 2010, when he entered the Indian dressing room and met MS Dhoni.
Let us tell you that in 2013, Shikhar Dhawan made his Test debut under Dhoni’s captaincy, where he scored a record 187 runs against Australia. But in October 2010, he was finally included in the Indian team for the three-match ODI series. Dhawan wrote that the then captain looked like a film star with his long hair and big smile.
Dhawan could not sleep before his debut match
Dhawan wrote in his autobiography, I wanted to cast him in a Bollywood film, he looked like a film star with long hair and an easy smile. We were talking about my motivation when I suddenly said, ‘I want to play for India and I want to make you a Bollywood hero!’ He turned his head back and laughed.
39-year-old Dhawan also talked about his debut match and said, “I was so nervous before the first match in Kochi that I could not sleep the whole night… but when I woke up in the morning, it was raining heavily and all my hopes were dashed. No action was possible that day.” The first ODI in Kochi was washed out due to rain. The third match of the series in Margao was also washed out due to rain. Thus, Dhawan could play only in the second match and was out on zero off two balls.
