This version of the trek offers a circular route—starting from Askole, reaching K2 Base Camp, then crossing Gondogoro La and exiting through the Hushe Valley.

This trek is more challenging than the regular base camp route, but it rewards trekkers with panoramic views of K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I & II, and Laila Peak from the top of the pass. It is a dream route for serious trekkers and photographers.

The K2 Gondogoro La Trek is considered one of the most beautiful treks in the world. However, it’s recommended only for physically fit and experienced trekkers. The climb over Gondogoro La Pass involves fixed ropes, crampons, and sometimes ice axes due to icy and steep terrain.

The Gondogoro La Trek itself can also be attempted from the Hushe side. Gondogoro La Pass is a mountain pass at 5,585 meters, offering one of the most breathtaking views in all of Pakistan. From the top, trekkers can see four 8,000-meter peaks: K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I, and Gasherbrum II. The pass connects the Baltoro Glacier side to Hushe Valley and completes the loop of the K2 and Gondogoro La Trek.

Climbing Gondogoro La Pass requires care, equipment, and sometimes the help of professional guides or rope-fixing teams. But the views and experience are beyond imagination.
