Located near Tbilisi, it has upheld a legacy of academic excellence throughout its journey. As the top-ranking university in Georgia, it continues to thrive and empower competent specialists in high-demand fields such as Humanities, Social Sciences, Medicine, and Administration.
The university’s commitment to excellence is reflected in its rich history. In its early years, Grigol Robakidze University attracted a distinguished faculty, including renowned educators like Akaki Bakradze and Marika Lordkipanidze. By 1994, the university expanded its educational offerings by inviting American and German professors to deliver lectures, enhancing its international profile.
Grigol Robakidze University was officially renamed in 1995, and that same year it earned a spot in the catalog of the world’s higher educational institutions, becoming one of only five institutions in Georgia to achieve this recognition. The establishment of the School of Dentistry, which introduced a unique simulating system, further cemented the university's reputation for excellence in medical education.
