Why I Chose to Be a Developer Without a CS Degree

🤔 The Question That Haunted Me
I used to ask myself:
“Can I really become a developer… without a Computer Science degree?”
Every job listing seemed to want one.
Every expert on YouTube had one.
And I didn’t.
I felt like an outsider a fake trying to break into a world I wasn’t “qualified” for.
🔍 What I Found After Research and Reflection
I studied job boards.
I read stories.
I talked to working developers.
And the truth hit me:
Most devs care more about skills than certificates.
Real projects > Paper degrees.
💡 What Really Matters
✅ Can you solve problems?
✅ Can you build working projects?
✅ Can you learn fast and debug confidently?
If yes you’re already becoming a developer.
A degree may open doors.
But proof of work opens more.
🛠 How I’m Building Without a Degree
Sharing every step of my journey publicly
Building projects that solve small problems
Learning CS concepts as needed (not all at once)
Focusing on outcomes, not titles
✍️ Final Note
You don’t need permission to be a developer.
You just need to build like one.
Your journey is real.
Your struggle is valid.
And your code messy or clean is proof that you belong.
